2026 manufacturer specification review and investment analysis
By Superb Massage Tables • Serving the contiguous United States
Manufacturer sources reviewed 12 October 2026 • Guide updated 14 October 2026
The five product families considered here serve different treatment workflows. Selection should start with required positioning, minimum working height, the manufacturer’s stated capacity and the exact ordered configuration. The available evidence supports a specification comparison and conditional financial analysis; it does not support a universal performance ranking.
DIR Mar Egeo has the lowest minimum height in the manufacturer drawings reviewed here, followed by Ellora Vista. These are published specifications, not independent measurements. Everest Spa offers a pedestal design and spa-oriented top options. Majestic separates flat and lift-back configurations, with powered back adjustment optional. The current DIR Mar Egeo listing identifies two motors, while Silverfox 2249 identifies four independently controlled movements. [1–8]
This report covers Earthlite Ellora Vista Salon, Earthlite Everest Spa Tilt, Custom Craftworks Majestic Basic and Lift Back, DIR Mar Egeo, and Silverfox 2249, listed by SMT as Ocili 2249. Majestic’s two configurations are treated as one family. These five product families are a selected comparison, not a market-wide ranking.
All numerical dimensions and capacities below are manufacturer-published specifications or explicitly labeled calculations. This guide is based on manufacturer specifications; no physical tables were tested. No independent measurements, accelerated life tests, failure-rate dataset, abrasion testing or observed customer financial results were supplied. Manufacturer specifications are useful evidence, but they are not SMT empirical test results.
The illustrative investment model reaches simple payback in about 14.0 months only if a facility actually fills two additional appointments per week under the stated assumptions. At zero additional appointments and no realized labor savings, the investment does not produce a positive cash return in the model. Capacity or convenience alone is not revenue.
Ratings retain the supplier’s terminology. A load or weight capacity is not assumed to be a powered lifting capacity. Configuration-specific confirmation takes precedence over a family-level sales page.
| Product family | Published height | Published capacity | Positioning and source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ellora Vista Salon | 18–37 in | 650 lb recommended lift | Electric Salon top option; foot control. [1,2] |
| Everest Spa Tilt | 25–37 in on current family page | 600 lb recommended lift | Pedestal; Tilt top option. Older manual differs; resolve exact build. [3,4] |
| Majestic Basic / Lift Back | 27.5–39.5 in | 600 lb lifting capacity | Basic flat; Lift Back standard manual; powered tilt upgrade. [5,6] |
| DIR Mar Egeo 8230-3G | 17¾–35⅔ in [10] | 450 lb weight capacity | Two electric motors for height and backrest; hand and foot remotes. [7] |
| Silverfox 2249 | 26.4–34.3 in [11] | 440 lb maximum load bearing [11] | Four motors: height, backrest, footrest, whole-bed inclination. [8] |
Ellora Vista’s current page lists Comfort-Flex upholstery and three-inch, three-layer Pro-Plush cushioning, with a four-inch memory foam option. Everest Spa lists Comfort-Flex and three-inch Pro-Plush cushioning. Older Earthlite documents use Natursoft terminology, so the ordered material should appear on the quote. [1–4]
Majestic lists three-inch Deluxe wrap foam and selectable upholstery. DIR lists cushioned vinyl. Silverfox describes PU upholstery and a three-section mattress with comfort padding; the reviewed text gives no quantified abrasion or chemical-resistance results. These descriptions cannot be converted into an upholstery durability ranking. [5–8]
Ask suppliers whether the stated rating applies while moving, to a stationary distributed load, or to a particular position. Confirm separate headrest, backrest and accessory limits. Do not infer capacity for one configuration from another or apply a family rating to an unsupported section load.
The current family page supports a 650-pound recommended lift rating for the model reviewed. The manufacturer’s Salon launch also identifies 650 pounds. Its current published height travel is 19 inches, calculated as 37 minus 18. The current page lists two years for motors and electronics, three years for foam and upholstery, and a limited lifetime frame warranty. Those terms do not measure service life. [1,2]
The current page and 2023 sheet report 25–37 inches, but the 2021 manual lists different ranges by top, including 26–42 inches for Electric Tilt. Treat this as a version/configuration discrepancy. Use a written specification for the exact unit before making clearance or accessibility decisions. Motor origin is not a selection claim in this guide. [3,4]
The supplier describes a column lift pedestal, with model-specific configuration options. Standard Lift Back articulation is manual; powered tilt is an orderable upgrade. A buyer needing powered repositioning should specify that upgrade rather than assume it comes with every Majestic. Published vertical travel is 12 inches. [5,6]
The current SMT product and DIR supplier listing identify the 8230-3G two-motor model. This guide uses that identity rather than treating “Mar Egeo 2” as a verified four-motor model. Do not assume four motors, Trendelenburg movement or a 440-pound dynamic rating for this two-motor SKU. This guide compares the SMT-listed 8230-3G. Its manufacturer drawing specifies 17¾–35⅔ inches in height, 72⅘ inches in length, 27⅗ inches in width and an 82-degree backrest angle. These figures apply to that SKU, not an assumed four-motor model. [7,9,10]
The manufacturer supports four movements. Its specification drawing confirms 78.2 × 29 inches, height 26.4–34.3 inches, and a maximum load bearing rating of 200 kg / 440 lb. This is not labeled a dynamic lifting rating. The drawing lists 296 lb net weight and AC 100–120V at 50/60Hz. The alias Ocili should be matched to model 2249 on the quote. [11] Silverfox has confirmed to SMT that it does not use German actuators. The specific actuator manufacturer and country of origin are not documented in this comparison. No loaded cycle-life result or validated disinfectant endurance figure was found in the reviewed product text. Specifications for other Silverfox models should not be applied to the 2249. [8]
Compare like configurations: top width, powered versus manual sections, controls, arm supports, delivery and setup. Choose a table that fits the actual treatments and room. A higher capacity or more motors does not, by itself, establish better reliability, clinical results or investment return.
The following checklist explains the evidence needed to compare measured performance. It is a proposed verification approach, not completed testing.
| Evaluation area | Documentation or measurement needed | Current evidence status |
|---|---|---|
| Actuator reliability | Exact actuator and control models; duty cycle; rated-load endurance cycles; failure criteria and sample size; service records | Published feature claims only; no comparable endurance dataset |
| Load and stability | Supplier rating definition; model/serial number; configuration and load distribution; accredited test method and report | Manufacturer ratings only; no SMT load test |
| Adjustability | Floor-to-surface min/max height; section angles; timed travel under approved load; control accessibility | Selected supplier dimensions; no direct timing or geometry measurements |
| Upholstery resilience | Material code; approved cleaning agents; concentration/contact time; abrasion and chemical tests with endpoints | Materials named for several models; comparative durability unknown |
For an evaluation unit, record SKU, serial number, manufacture date, top configuration and accessories. Use calibrated measuring tools and record their resolution. Measure the unloaded surface height three times at each endpoint under a consistent method. Report individual readings, average and range. Measure section angles with a digital inclinometer. Keep photographs and the raw record with the report.
For normal operating travel, follow the manufacturer’s approved load distribution and duty cycle. Record the test load, start/end heights, ambient conditions, elapsed time and number of repetitions. Compare results only when the methods and loads are equivalent. Small acceptance checks do not establish long-term reliability.
Do not conduct overload, tip-over, destructive fatigue or unapproved chemical tests in a treatment room. Request the supplier’s laboratory evidence or commission a qualified laboratory with an agreed protocol.
Each result should include the operator, date, instrument/calibration, test method, sample count, configuration, loading, raw observations, uncertainty and pass/fail basis. A warranty or “quiet motor” description cannot substitute for measured failure rates or sound levels.
The following is an illustrative facility-level cash model, not a supplier quotation, SMT sales forecast or demonstrated return. It compares buying one table with retaining a usable existing table. All dollar inputs are hypothetical USD amounts, chosen to show the calculation. Model-specific quotes are still needed.
| Input | Illustrative assumption |
|---|---|
| Table and selected accessories | $4,000 |
| Freight and setup | $500 |
| Sales tax and other acquisition costs | $300 placeholder; replace with actual |
| Initial investment | $4,800; sum of the above |
| Operating weeks each year | 48 |
| Fee per additional completed appointment | $100 |
| Variable expense per appointment | $55, including incremental labor, supplies and payment costs |
| Contribution per additional appointment | $45 = $100 − $55 |
| Annual incremental operating allowance | $200 for maintenance and electricity |
| Other benefits included | $0 injury savings; $0 retention savings; $0 resale; $0 tax incentives |
Annual contribution = additional completed appointments per week × operating weeks × contribution per appointment.
Annual net cash benefit = annual contribution + realized payroll savings − incremental operating costs.
Simple payback in months = initial investment ÷ annual net cash benefit × 12, only when net benefit is positive.
Three-year simple ROI = (3 × annual net cash benefit − initial investment) ÷ initial investment. This ignores financing and the time value of money.
Count appointments only if the table enables incremental demand to be served and that demand is actually booked and completed. Do not credit existing appointments to the equipment. If the retained table already permits identical scheduling, assume zero additional appointments until a time study and booking record establish otherwise.
Time released within paid hours is not automatically payroll savings. Count saved wages only when cash payroll actually falls. Do not count the same time both as payroll savings and as extra appointment capacity. Include financing interest and fees in a financed case; do not confuse loan cash flow with unfinanced project return.
| Extra completed visits per week | Annual contribution | Annual net benefit | Simple payback | Three year simple ROI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | $0 | $-200 | No positive payback | -112.5% |
| 1 | $2,160 | $1,960 | 29.4 months | 22.5% |
| 2 | $4,320 | $4,120 | 14.0 months | 157.5% |
| 3 | $6,480 | $6,280 | 9.2 months | 292.5% |
At two additional visits weekly, annual contribution is $4,320 and annual net benefit is $4,120. The three-year net gain after recovering the initial investment is $7,560. At no incremental visits, annual costs remain $200 and the three-year net cash outcome is −$5,400. These are calculated scenarios, not probabilities.
Keeping the two-visit scenario unchanged, an all-in investment of $3,000, $4,800 or $7,000 produces simple payback of 8.7, 14.0 or 20.4 months respectively. The corresponding three-year simple ROI is 312.0%, 157.5% or 76.6%. Lower acquisition cost does not justify selecting a table that cannot perform the required work.
For a 24-month payback at the $4,800 investment, required annual contribution is $2,600: $2,400 capital recovery plus $200 annual costs. At a $45 contribution margin and 48 operating weeks, the requirement is approximately 1.21 additional completed visits per week. This is a planning threshold, not a promise that a table will create those appointments.
For context, six sessions per day, five days per week and 48 weeks give 1,440 sessions annually. An assumed two-minute saving per session would release 48 hours per year. A hypothetical one-hour appointment could consume all 60 minutes of a slot, so those hours would represent at most 48 extra slots before booking, turnover and scheduling constraints. Do not combine this illustration with the two-extra-visits scenario as additional benefits.
For each of the five families, enter a dated SMT quote for the chosen configuration, delivery, setup, tax and required accessories. Add the facility’s actual contribution margin, existing equipment baseline, operating schedule, maintenance allowance and measured time changes. Until then, there is no defensible model-specific ROI winner.
DIR model identity and the missing DIR and Silverfox dimensions are now resolved for this comparison. For Everest, use 25–37 inches as the current published family specification and disclose the older manual conflict; an exact-build guarantee still requires Earthlite confirmation. This comparison presents manufacturer specifications and illustrative scenarios. Independent engineering conclusions would require the measurement records described in the evidence section.
